Spot. The international reference price of the metal at a given moment.
Premium. What you pay above the value of the metal, for manufacturing, distribution and the seller's margin.
Troy ounce. The unit of weight for precious metals, equal to 31.1035 grams.
Fineness or purity. The proportion of pure metal in a piece, in thousandths. A fineness of 999 means 99.9 % pure metal.
Fine weight. The pure metal the piece contains, that is, its weight multiplied by its fineness.
Bullion. A coin or bar whose value depends mainly on the metal it contains.
Fractional. A piece of less than one ounce, such as the half, the quarter or the tenth.
Monster box. A sealed mint box holding several tubes of identical coins.
Gold-silver ratio. How many ounces of silver it takes to buy one ounce of gold.
Frequently asked questions
What happens to my money when I pay?
It stays in protected payment. It does not reach the seller until the protection period ends, which is shorter if the piece carries the GSG Vault seal.
How long do I have to file a claim?
Five days from delivery. To file a claim you need the unboxing video of the package. A counterfeit can be claimed up to thirty days later.
How much do I pay in total?
Prices are shown before taxes. Taxes and shipping are calculated and shown at the end, in the cart. Shipping is not free and is insured until confirmed delivery.
Can I store the piece in GSG Vault?
Yes. Insured custody keeps your piece in the GSG Vault strongroom. The fees are on the Fees page.
