Historical Spot Charts

See how the price of gold, silver and copper has moved over long ranges, in ounces or in grams and in the site's currencies. Each chart states its source and publishes the data as is, without buy or sell readings.

What they show

The quoted price of each metal over time. You can change the range, the unit of weight and the currency, and move the cursor over the line to see the value for each day.

How far back they go

The charts cover up to five years. To look further back, the Metals Since 1971 page gathers the average annual price of each metal over more than five decades, with the big rises and falls of each cycle.

How to read them

A chart shows what has happened, not what is going to happen. Always compare long ranges with short ones, because a single day says little about the path of a metal.

The source

Each chart states the data provider. If a series starts later than the chosen range, you will see only the available stretch.

Currency and unit

You can see the same chart in dollars, in euros or in another currency on the site, and in troy ounces or in grams. Changing the currency is only a way of showing the data and does not affect the price of the pieces.
