Terms for Private Sellers

Rules for selling as a private seller on Gold Silver Global. Levels, verification, catalog, shipping, payout, offers, claims and account closure.

Updated 2026-11-01

Current text. Versión 1 · en vigor desde el 14 de septiembre de 2026

Version 2, effective November 1, 2026

These terms apply when you sell on Gold Silver Global as a private seller, that is, when you sell pieces from your collection without doing so as a professional activity. They supplement the Terms and Conditions, the Claims and Disputes policy, the Privacy Policy and the other rules of the website, which you also accept when you list. If anything in this text conflicts with the Terms and Conditions on a matter specific to sales between private individuals, this text applies.

The service is provided by Gold Silver Global LLC, 8 The Green STE B, Dover, DE 19901, United States (“GSG”).

1. What GSG does and what you do

GSG provides the catalog, the listing, payment collection with protected payment, messaging with the buyer and the handling of claims. The sale is concluded between you and the buyer. GSG does not buy or resell your piece, except under the GSG Vault routes that you choose and in which GSG acts on your behalf as each one describes.

You are the seller of the piece. You are responsible for what you list, for the piece being yours and for your right to sell it.

2. Seller levels

Gold Silver Global has three levels. The first two are for private sellers.

  • Unverified Private Seller. You have registered but have not yet completed identity verification. You can have pieces listed up to a total of €1,000 across all your active listings, with no limit per piece. To go above that amount you must verify.
  • Verified Private Seller. You have completed identity verification. You can list without the limit above.
  • Verified Professional. This is the level for mints, shops, distributors and anyone who sells as an economic activity. It has its own terms, in Terms for Professionals.

Your level appears on your seller profile and on each listing, so that the buyer knows who they are buying from.

3. When you stop being a private seller

Selling as a private seller means selling pieces from your collection on an occasional basis. If you buy in order to resell, if you sell regularly, or if the volume and frequency of your sales are those of a business, you must move to Verified Professional. GSG may ask you to do so when your activity indicates it and may limit your listings until you change level. Presenting yourself as a private seller when you are a professional is a serious violation, because it deprives the buyer of the rights that the law gives them against a professional.

4. Identity verification

To verify, you need a valid ID or passport and, when required, proof of address. The full process is in Identity Verification.

  • You can register, buy below €200 and list up to €1,000 in total without verifying.
  • To go above €1,000 listed, verification is mandatory.
  • To be paid for your sales, the payment provider may ask you to verify your identity and your bank account before the first payout, even if you have not gone above €1,000.
  • The account into which you are paid must be in your name.

5. Closed catalog

On Gold Silver Global, free-form listings are not created. Each listing hangs from a reference in the GSG Encyclopedia catalog.

  • Identify the piece. You search for the piece by text or by photo and GSG suggests the references that match. You confirm which one is yours.
  • The platform writes the title. It is generated from the reference. You choose the condition and, where applicable, the extra detail from the closed list. You can add a free-text description, which is automatically translated into the buyer's language with the note “Automatically translated, see original”.
  • If the piece is not in the catalog. You request the creation of a new reference with the data and photos we ask you for. The team reviews it and, where appropriate, creates it. Until then you cannot publish that listing.
  • Photos. A minimum of two real photos of your piece, obverse and reverse (with the full label if it is in a certified capsule), and up to eight. No retouching that changes its appearance. The full rules are in Advertising and Listings.
  • Quantity. As a private seller you list each piece with a quantity of 1, except for tubes and lots.
  • Moderation. Each listing is reviewed before it is published and may be removed afterward if it is found to breach these rules.

Ancient coins are not yet accepted. They will open in 2027 with their own rules.

6. What you undertake to do

By listing, you undertake the following.

  • Describe truthfully. The condition, the reference, the certification and any defect must match the actual piece. If you are not sure about something, do not state it.
  • Disclose alterations. If the piece has been cleaned, polished, repatinated, retouched, colored after its issue or repaired, you say so in the listing. The alteration is not the problem, concealing it is.
  • Do not invent grades. A numerical grade (for example MS70 or PF69) may appear only if the piece is certified by a recognized company and its label says so.
  • Have the piece. You list only pieces that you have in your possession and that are yours, free of encumbrances and of lawful origin.
  • Keep the listing up to date. If you sell the piece through another channel or it stops being available, you remove the listing immediately.
  • Ship on time. If you ship yourself, you hand the package to the carrier within the dispatch time shown in your listing, counted in business days from when payment is confirmed (by default, 1 business day), and you upload the tracking number no later than the business day after shipping.
  • Record the packaging. If you ship yourself, you record one continuous, uncut video from the moment you show the piece until the package is closed, with the carrier's label visible. You keep the video and the shipping receipt for at least 90 days. Without that video, in a claim for contents or for damage you will find it very hard to defend yourself.
  • Respect prohibited products. You do not list anything that appears in Prohibited and Restricted Products.

7. The three ways to sell

Each listing chooses one route. The figures for each are on the Fees page.

You sell and you ship

You list, sell and ship the piece directly to the buyer, with tracking, insurance and the packaging video. You pay the sales commission.

If the buyer requests GSG Verified from the listing page before paying, you send the piece to the GSG Vault strongroom instead of sending it to their home. GSG verifies it and sends it to them with the GSG Vault seal. You split the cost, in the way that Fees indicates, and shipping to the strongroom is at your expense.

GSG Vault Custody

You send the piece to the GSG Vault strongroom before selling it. GSG receives it, verifies it, keeps it in insured custody and the listing goes out with the GSG Vault seal. When it sells, GSG packs it and ships it to the buyer. You pay the sales commission, the service fee and the custody according to Fees. The terms of custody are in the GSG Vault Custody Policy.

GSG Vault Full

Everything in GSG Vault Custody and, in addition, GSG catalogs the piece, photographs it, records its video, writes the listing in the languages of the website and publishes it in your name, at the price you set or under the pricing rules we agree in writing. GSG never recommends a price to you. It is designed for inheritances, estates and large collections.

GSG Vault services are charged even if the piece does not pass verification. In that case the sale is canceled, the buyer gets their money back and the piece returns to you with a report of the reason.

8. Price and commission

  • Price. You set it. It is what you receive. The buyer sees three prices depending on how they pay (“Balance or bank transfer”, “By card” and “PayPal”), but you always receive the same amount.
  • Spot-linked price. If you turn this option on, the price is recalculated once a day according to the metal quotation and the listing page says so.
  • Commission. It is calculated on your sale price, excluding shipping, insurance and taxes, with a minimum per order. It is paid on all routes. The buyer is not charged commission. The figures are on the Fees page.
  • Same price as elsewhere. The price of your piece on Gold Silver Global cannot be higher than the price you yourself ask for that same piece on other websites, including your own, not counting shipping. We ask this so that no one pays more for buying with GSG's protections. If we detect a higher price, we adjust the price of your listing to the lower one, before or after the sale, and if it has already sold we refund the difference to the buyer, charged to your payout. If it happens again, we may close your account.
  • Fee changes. They are announced at least 30 days in advance. Sales concluded before the change date are settled at the previous fee.

9. Payout after the protection period

The buyer pays GSG and their money stays as protected payment. It does not reach you until the protection period ends.

  • The protection period starts with confirmed delivery, that is, when the buyer confirms that they have received the piece or, if they do not, when delivery is deemed confirmed 3 days after the carrier marks it as delivered.
  • If you ship yourself, the protection period is 7 days. If the piece was in GSG Vault, it is 5 days.
  • If the buyer does nothing, the payment is released automatically when the protection period ends.
  • If the buyer opens a claim within the deadline, the release of the payment is paused until it is resolved.
  • When it is released, the amount goes to your balance, after deducting the commission and the services you have contracted, and is settled into the bank account in your name that you have indicated.

10. Payout currency

You are paid in the currency you declare when you set up your account, with no exchange costs for you. If the buyer pays in another currency, the conversion is charged to their account and they see it already included in the cart price.

11. Offers

You can turn on the “Make an offer” button on each listing and set the maximum price reduction you accept.

  • An offer must propose at least 5 % less than the listing price.
  • Offers below your maximum price reduction are rejected automatically.
  • Within your range, you have 2 days to accept, reject or make a counteroffer, up to a maximum of 3 rounds. If you turn on automatic acceptance, offers within your range are accepted automatically.
  • An accepted offer is a binding sale. If the buyer left a card, the charge is made on acceptance and the sale is closed. If they chose bank transfer, they have 2 days from acceptance and the piece stays on sale until their payment arrives, because on GSG no piece is reserved.
  • Negotiation is done only with this button. Price reductions are not requested or offered by message.

12. Messages with buyers

Buyers can ask you public questions under the listing, which you answer in full view of everyone, and send you private messages. In neither are external contact details allowed (phone, email, social media, links, bank accounts or addresses for in-person handover). The messaging system has a filter that detects them.

13. Buyer claims

The buyer can file a claim within these deadlines, counted from confirmed delivery.

  • The piece does not match the listing, arrives damaged or contents are missing. 5 days.
  • Suspected counterfeit. 30 days.
  • Piece not received. A claim can be filed when tracking does not show delivery within the expected time.

To file a claim, the buyer must provide the video of opening the package. Without that video there is no claim, except for a piece not received.

When a claim is opened, you are notified and you have 3 business days to respond and provide your evidence (the packaging video, the receipt and the photos). GSG studies the case and decides with a reasoned decision. The resolution routes and the full procedure are in the Claims and Disputes policy.

On Gold Silver Global there is no right of withdrawal. The buyer cannot return a piece to you because they have changed their mind. What they have is protected payment, 5 days to file a claim and the authenticity guarantee (counterfeit, 30 days from confirmed delivery).

14. Consequences of a claim

  • If the claim is upheld. The buyer keeps their money or is refunded in the way that is decided, and the payment to you is not released.
  • If the cause is yours. For example, the piece does not match the listing or is counterfeit. You refund the amount to the buyer, you pay the return shipping and, if an expert examination was needed, the examination as well. GSG may collect these amounts from your balance or from your upcoming payouts.
  • If the cause is the buyer's. They pay for the expert examination and the payment is released in your favor.
  • Authorized return. If a return is authorized, the buyer has 7 days to hand the piece to the carrier.
  • Reputation and account. Claims resolved against you count toward your rating. If they repeat, if you knowingly sell a counterfeit or if you conceal an alteration, GSG may limit your listings, suspend your account or close it, and report it to the authorities where the law requires.

15. Diverting sales away from GSG is prohibited

Everything that starts on Gold Silver Global is concluded on Gold Silver Global. It is prohibited to propose or accept that payment or delivery take place outside the website, to share contact details for that purpose, or to use listings and messaging to draw buyers to another shop or channel. A payment outside GSG has no protection whatsoever, neither for the buyer nor for you. If we detect an attempt, we may remove the listing, suspend or close your account and charge the commission on the diverted sale.

16. Taxes

Any taxes that may apply to your sales are your responsibility, under the laws of your country. GSG does not file or pay taxes on your behalf, except where a law expressly requires it to.

The laws of some countries require marketplaces to report to the tax authority the details of their sellers and the amount of their sales. In the European Union this is required by Directive (EU) 2021/514 (known as DAC7), and in the United States an annual payment report (Form 1099-K) may apply. When that is the case, GSG will ask you for the necessary details, including your tax number (EIN, TIN or the one from your country), and will report them.

If you have questions about how your sales are taxed, consult a tax professional in your country.

17. Account closure

  • If you close it. You can close your account whenever you want from My account. Beforehand, your sales in progress and your open claims must be completed, your balance collected, and your pieces in GSG Vault withdrawn or sold, with custody paid.
  • If GSG closes it. GSG may suspend or close your account if you breach these terms, the Terms and Conditions or the law. We will notify you with the reasons and you will be able to appeal the decision through the internal complaint system, as provided by Regulation (EU) 2022/2065 (DSA).
  • After closure. Sales and claims in progress are completed under these terms. We keep the data that the law requires us to keep for the period stated in the Privacy Policy.

18. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we will notify you sufficiently in advance before they take effect. If you do not agree, you can close your account before that date.

19. Contact

For any question about these terms, use the Contact form with the topic Sellers.
